Japan’s Natsumi Taoka Triumphs at Bali’s TWINKLE TOES LOG FESTIVAL

The vibrant shores of Canggu, Bali, recently hosted the prestigious ‘TWINKLE TOES LOG FESTIVAL’ on June 29th and 30th. This exclusive longboard event, organized by Times Beach Warung, combined the thrill of surfing with the joys of music, delectable food, and refreshing beer. With the presence of 2022 World Champion Harrison Roach, the festival attracted top loggers from around the globe, making it a highlight in the surfing calendar.

Among the elite participants were Joel Tudor’s son Tosh, the stunning logger Josie Prendergast, and Bali’s top talent Teddy Hardware. Representing Japan were notable surfers Natsumi Taoka, Uminosuke Oguma, Shotaro Nakano, Rintaro Yokote, and Takahito Sakairi.

Japan’s Natsumi Taoka emerged victorious, showcasing her exceptional skills and earning the top spot. Her victory was celebrated with the prize of a THOMAS SURFBOARDS board, adding a cherry on top of her remarkable performance. The event was a significant milestone for Taoka, cementing her status in the international longboarding community.

In the men’s division, Rogelio Jr. Esquievel from the Philippines delivered an awe-inspiring performance, scoring a perfect 10 and securing the championship. Uminosuke Oguma also shone brightly, making it to the finals and thrilling the audience with his challenging cross rides with Esquievel, creating a spectacular show of surfing prowess.

The TWINKLE TOES LOG FESTIVAL not only celebrated the art of longboarding but also highlighted the camaraderie and spirit of the surfing community. As participants and spectators enjoyed the blend of sports and festivities, the event undoubtedly left a lasting impression, setting a high bar for future surfing festivals.
